Medical escorts are typically only required during and after surgery, but the chaperones at More Than Family can help with more than that. We're also available before your procedure to help ensure you're fully prepared and to help relieve the stress that comes with that process.

We escort patients to medical facilities or meet them there prior to the procedure, depending on their unique needs and desires. Our chaperones will stay for as long as needed. Upon request, we can contact friends and family after the surgery to provide any important details if you wish. We also ensure the patient is safe in his / her room.

More Than Family chaperones are available to stay with the patient overnight, either in the patient's room or in a hotel room. We will assist in following the doctor's orders for post-surgical instructions. If icing is required, we'll set up a schedule based on the physician's orders as well as keep a log of any prescribed medications.
